Chapter 24 The New Penthouse

• Nicole sat in silence, her eyes fixed on the endless stretch of road ahead. Her eyes were fixed straight ahead, her mind wandering far away. Deep down, Nicole felt a twinge of guilt toward Shawn. She’d promised to have lunch with him, and even though Shawn didn’t seem to mind, Nicole still felt bad for canceling.
• All of this was Oliver Maxton’s fault. He was the reason her lunch with Shawn had been ruined. If Oliver hadn’t kidnapped her, she would have been enjoying lunch with Shawn right now. Honestly, Oliver’s madness was giving her a headache.
• As Nicole looked out the window, her eyes widened in surprise when Oliver’s car pulled into an apartment building. She stared at Oliver, utterly confused.
