Chapter 15 Marriage Is Not A Competition

• “Sadie, tell my father I’m busy. I can’t make it to dinner tonight,” Nicole said, her eyes glued to the MacBook in front of her. She was busy sorting through her emails, completely absorbed in her work. When she was working, she often forgot everything else—even skipping meals for the sake of her job.
• Sadie looked at her, clearly worried and confused. “Miss, Mr. Mayir told me that you absolutely must come tonight. He said you’re not allowed to skip dinner.”
• Nicole closed her MacBook and shot an annoyed look at her assistant. She was still sitting in the restaurant, having just finished a client meeting, and was catching up on work before leaving. Instead of enjoying a moment of peace, she was interrupted by her assistant delivering frustrating news.
