• Oliver closed his eyes for a moment, trying to contain the anger and frustration swirling inside him. He was standing outside the examination room while the doctor checked on Nicole. His face was locked in a tight mask of worry and rage. He couldn’t believe a luxury hotel could be so negligent with its building maintenance.
• On the way to the hospital, Oliver had already checked Nicole’s pulse. It was slow, but thankfully still steady. He was certain she’d passed out from a lack of oxygen in the elevator.
