Chapter 53 Memories

• If this had been in the past, Susan Shelby would have instantly given in when she saw Julian Shaw's angry face. She was shocked to learn, though, that she no longer feared Julian as much in her heart as she once had. "Julian, consider this a favor to me, alright?" Susan gave Julian a beseeching look. She did not want Luke Jenkins to suffer any harm. She did love him so much in the past, after all. At this point, she simply could not force herself to ignore Luke. Julian wanted to refuse Susan's request, but after witnessing her teary-eyed expression, he was completely unable to do so. Julian gave one icy groan after a long time. Susan kept her grip on Luke's hand as the doctor started to bustle around. Occasionally, she would talk to him to calm his feelings. The examination of the head and neck was a challenging process. Luke was given a very thorough checkup by the doctor using his tools. "Doctor, what's happening to him?" Susan responded, her expression a little confused. "His brain had some damage in the crash previously. Based on the findings, I would conclude that a trigger caused these injuries to concentrate and flare up today," the doctor added.
