Chapter 5 Uneasy Client

  • "Young man, I'm trying to save you!" Susan thought to herself, stunned. The sight of their encounter made Julian's expression even more gloomy. "That's great!" he said, casting a chilly gaze at Susan. Then he turned and walked away. "What did Chairman Shaw mean?" Chance was perplexed. Susan, meantime, was muttering obscenities at herself. Chance had made a stupid decision that would largely fall on her. At the notion, she sagged in her chair. Chance said obstinately, "Susan, you haven't told me if you'll accept me." Susan was about to respond to him when all of them examined their phones since they had all begun beeping.
  • Suddenly, the nearly elusive CEO, Julian Shaw, sent a message on the business chat group. It was only a brief statement. "Starting from today onwards, any courtyard between employees is forbidden!" Susan couldn't speak. One can only imagine how irritated CEO Shaw was given the obvious error in that statement! "Starting from today onwards, any courtships between employees are forbidden!" In an instant, Julian fixed the misspelling and sent the message again. "Huh? No dating?" "Does he need to be so brutal?" The mood among the staff was immediately solemn. Chance was also taken aback since he thought the new regulation applied to him personally. It shouldn't be. But what had he done?
  • Did they do this out of concern that it might impair their performance at work? Chance was despondent, but Susan came up with a quick fix. She gave him a grin. I'm sorry, but I can't guarantee it. Courting is prohibited per the company's policy. Chance Hamilton was rendered speechless by the sheer force of that explanation and her sincere delivery of it. Susan finally had time to look at her design drawings after she had finally gotten the rock off her chest. She had worked as an interior designer and had dealt with a wide range of challenging clientele. This time, though, the customer was really challenging. This customer wanted to design the new room herself and was getting married soon.
  • "Isn't your client being too challenging, Susan?" The coworker next to her stated. Susan let out an sigh. "I have no other option. The customer is always correct. She then began making changes to the design. Susan submitted the drawings along before the end of the workday after making changes to the designs in response to the client's suggestions. When the email appeared, she was getting ready to go. That customer was the one. "No, this needs to be redesigned." Unconsciously, Susan scowled. Ten seconds have passed since she sent the email! The customer already decided that it needed to be redesigned in ten seconds? Susan was unable to control her anger.
  • Redesigning was commonplace. The client, however, would not even be able to view the design for ten seconds, but she still asked for a revision right away. It was deliberate. Susan also had a temper since she was a human being. Another email arrived just as she was about to advise the customer to choose other designers. "Ignore it. You're not good enough. I'll have a conversation with you at the Meet Cafe beside your workplace at 6 p.m. After giving it some thought, she said, "Okay." Susan agreed to meet once because that was the client's suggestion. She was unable to proceed if the designs continued to require frequent revisions.
  • Susan packed things and headed downstairs because it was thirty minutes before six o'clock. "Susan." Chance appeared to be waiting for her near the company's door, which confused her. "Hmm." Did he not grasp her refusal? Chance clenched his jaw and addressed her gravely, "I've given this a lot of consideration, Susan. I genuinely like you! Even though Lanyard Construction has the highest employee satisfaction rate in the business, I will willingly go if you are ready to stay with me." Susan was taken aback. She believed Chance would be discouraged by the company's policy on employee hiring. She never imagined, though, that he would prefer to switch careers in order to pursue her.
  • A serious response was warranted for such severity. "Chance Hamilton, I'm not lying," she said after giving it some thought. I do really have a husband. Chance couldn't help but feel confused since Susan was being serious. "You mean you're telling the truth, really?" Susan answered earnestly, "Yes, it's true; we've been married for more than a year." Chance tightened his jaw. "So, do you...you love him?" "Dove?" She was taken aback and then burst out laughing, saying, "That word is too extravagant." But I'm content with my life right now and don't plan on changing it." "If...you weren’t married, would you have considered me?" Chance questioned when his eyes grew drab. He gave Susan a hopeful glance.
  • Susan grinned. "You're quite talented. Chance felt better when she honestly said, "Of course, I'll consider you." "Susan, I..." It appeared that Chance had something to say. As CEO Shaw passed them without a word, there was a sudden snort. Susan was stunned. Why was this dude all over the place? It seemed as though she might not survive the next day! Susan said goodbye to Chance and then got a call from Julian. He said in a chilly tone, "Go one kilometer ahead. I'll be at the side of the road waiting for you. Await her? Susan caught a glimpse of Julian's automobile in the distance.
  • "Are you not yet coming over? Or are you still interested in going to speak with your suitor? Remember that you are a married lady, Susan. There was a hint of wrath in Julian's voice. Susan understood his anger well. She was his wife even though he didn't like her. A guy would not tolerate her approaching another man, even if it were based on his ego." I remembered. Susan remarked, "I've made it very clear to Chance." It was difficult to determine whether CEO Shaw was pleased with his snort. "However..." "Today, a client has asked me to meet at Meet Cafe," Susan continued obstinately. You can't take me home with you! "Are you turning me away?" On the other side, Susan sensed that CEO Shaw was gritting his teeth. She gave him a brief smile. "No, no, but I have already promised the client..." After a moment of stillness, Julian stated icily, "I'm giving you one final opportunity, Susan. Will you enter? the vehicle?"
