Darkness hurled the sky. Everywhere was a bit calm, and the serene sound of the car was heard in the compound. The door was flung open, and Georgie staggered out of the car, having his palms clutched to the car body to not lose his balance.
His heart kept pounding. He was still unable to put himself together after Doctor Theo announced the fatal condition Shannon was in. He didn't anticipate that because Shannon had assured him that she was okay and had a long life ahead.
Danny alighted from the car and came straight to him. He watched his boss for seconds and sniffled, holding back his tears. Right away, he didn't need to be told how Georgie felt at that moment. Now, the worst was that Shannon wasn't ready to return to him again.
