- Shannon raised her brows the moment Mr Georgie stood from his seat, his palms still glued to the desk. His facial expressions twisted—and his lips pouted. She blinked, taking a hard gulp. She was unable to tell if she had infuriated him or not, but one thing she knew was that she had the right to demand such a thing.
- Meeting his gaze the third time, she shook her head to get any silly thought in her mind off. “I guess—I pissed you off…”
- “And I think you did more than that.” he snapped back at her….jaw tightened. “Why would you make such a request, knowing so well that it would never be granted? Do you know the reason the investigation was taken away from us? What about how dangerous it would be to insist on looking into the accident?”
