• When Maverick left the office, he had one of the staff under him wait behind to eavesdrop on the conversation between Georgie and Pa Thompson. The staff told him what they discussed later on, making him fume in rage that he left the office before closing hour.
• He went home and pulled out a bottle of Brandy from his bar, filling the glass and downing it in a go. His chest palpitated as if something was going to happen to him. He hated each time he recalled everything the staff told him about Georgie.
• The hairs on his skin rose as he emptied the bottle into the glass and dropped it aside. “I swear, I will make that little boy pay for all these. He grew up to take over my place in my father's heart. I won't let him enjoy it no matter how he wants it.” he screeched and emptied the glass again, then slammed it on the table, his palm gripping it tight.
