• Until they reached the hilltop where they would stay for a month, Shannon kept sparing glances at Georgie. Each time she recalled the statement he had just made about rains, it made her quiver.
• How can a common rain make a grown-up man like him go insane? She wanted to believe that it was a made-up story, but with the perspiration that covered his face until they alighted from the car, she understood that Georgie was struggling to keep up on the car steering.
• “Is that the house? You said it looked like a hut….but it's more of an apartment.” Shannon giggled and dipped her hand into her side pockets. She glanced around to see lots of couples, even kids, walking around.
