• That evening, when Mistress Pandra returned to her quarters, she was shocked to find Lyra sitting on the veranda with her sword digging into the floor.
• She knew that everything wasn't right with her stay. It was either she had shown up to warn her or drop a message to her. But with the darkened look on Lyra’s face, she didn't need to be told that she had pissed off the King's right-hand woman.
• Even though they don't get along, Lyra has always tried her best to respect Pandra because they weren't mates. But whenever Pandra crosses the line, she leaves a cut on her skin as a warning.
