Chapter 99 Burnt Bridges

• Maya's POV
• I sat there on the bed while looking away from him. I tried to think of what Daniel could have told him but I couldn't come up with anything because I told Daniel a lot of things already. After a while of trying to think and coming up with nothing, he suddenly cleared his throat, inhaled deeply, and started to talk.
• "You should not let your past decide what is going to happen in your future. You need to stand up for yourself regardless of all the hurdles that you might encounter on the way to success. I don't know how I sound right now but you sure understand all that I have been saying to you." I nodded slightly as if I were following all that he was saying but in the real sense, I was only thinking of what Daniel had told him. My heart raced faster as I sat there, my head lowered as I avoided his gaze.
