Chapter 55 Severed Past

• Maya's POV
• The evening was upon the earth. The gentle evening breeze blew across the quiet corners of the pack. I had not been myself since I arrived back at the pack. I tried to take my mind off the dream about my mother but each time that I wanted to stop, I ended up thinking about it more. I didn't know exactly what to do as I waited to get a response from the Ardan pack.
• It was taking too much time for the guard to arrive and that left me so restless. I walked around the pack, uncertain of what to do. I walked back to my room, with the aim of finding some sleep but with my troubled mind, I knew sleep was going to be very far away from me.
