Chapter 30 Switch

• Maya's POV
• Evelyn walked straight into the conference room, stealing the whole attention in the room. She cleared her throat slightly as if she wanted to continue from where she stooped but she only walked to where she was supposed to sit. The room was silent for a while until she sat down. The whole elders watched her as she did her thing before she finally started to talk.
• "I don't see the need to call a meeting just to discuss who should rule the pack or not. She has been doing a nice job since the alpha left and I am not sure any one of you here can do half as much good work as she has done. I don't need to say too much or preach too much to all of you about the kind of good work she had put into the betterment of this pack in the absence of the alpha. She will remain the ruler of the pack until otherwise said by the alpha." Her voice was so firm and direct. There was no iota of fear in her tone as she spoke to them. For a moment I was glad she came through and had them schooled like that.
