Chapter 76 Inevitable Pain
- Alpha James's POV
- I woke up with a sharp pain in the head and knee and immediately knew what was trying to happen. If I don't get that tranquilizer now, I will tear the whole room apart. I clenched my hands tightly to my head as I hoped for the pain to stop, but it was already going beyond my control. My eyes were starting to look hazy, and I closed them immediately, shaking my head; perhaps it was going to restore my clear vision, but it did not. I stayed there on the bed waiting for the doctor to come, but nobody walked in. I heaved a sigh as I stood up from the bed and walked towards the door, but before I could reach there, I fell to my knees, waiting for the curse to consume me. Just when I thought that I was losing it, the door opened, and I could barely recognize who walked in.
- “What is wrong with you? Are you having the phase again?” The familiar voice of Maya echoed and for a moment, I felt relieved, but my head was still banging. She came to me and held me by my arms to help me up. I was slowly getting myself back, and then I started to pant like I had run a hundred meters without stopping for a second. She walked me back to the bed, and I lay there calmly. I could not deny the fact that I was extremely happy that she was there right in time to save me.
