• I looked at Daniel in the face, lying there helplessly still with his mouth shut. I didn't know how else to get the word from him. Allan was in danger so needed to get him out of there as fast as possible. But somehow, he was ready to talk, despite all that I had done to him. A thought immediately crept into my mind as I stood there and I didn't bother to evaluate it, I went directly with my thoughts.
• I left Daniel bound by thick iron chains, still gasping from the fight. His chest rose and fell in ragged heaves. The scorching sun beat on the small stone cell, but the heat could not touch the fire in my veins. I had driven my blade through his defenses and demanded every scrap of information about Allan, and all I got was silence. Daniel’s loyalty to Alpha James ran deeper than any pain I could inflict.
