• Maya's POV
• "The elders have said that they cannot allow themselves to be ruled by a female. They want to take every necessary measure to bring you down from that position that you are in. As the eldest and closest to your husband, the alpha, I thought it was only appropriate to brief you on what is going on." He calmly explained and looked away from me. I was confused at this point, not knowing exactly how to reply.
• "You have to thread carefully, or else you are not ready for what is being planned against you." He added and that felt like a threat to me. My face hardened as I cleared my throat to grab his attention.
