Chapter 56 Fifty Six
- Diana stood at a distance, her eyes completely blurred with tears as she bit her lips and listened to what her son was saying to his mate... her heart felt like it was being ripped right out of her chest and she found it hard to breathe... she had concealed her presence so no one would know she was there and she had also followed Lilac when she went looking for Jonathan... everything Devon had said to her was true... she was selfish and self-centered and only thought about herself... tears of pure sadness rolled down her cheeks and she fell to her knees as more tears escaped her eyes... yes she had blamed Jonathan... she had avoided him and left him behind because he reminded her of the unfortunate event that happened to them... she had lost her husband, she had lost the best part of her the person who made her smile again and brought her complete happiness... Anytime she closed her eyes, the image of his lifeless body invaded her mind and it killed her over and over again. But that wasn't all that invaded her mind... a little boy stood a few distance away from them... his eyes filled with tears of pain as he watched his mother wail uncontrollably as she held his father in her arms... her baby... her little boy... she had been so overwhelmed with her own grief that she had overlooked his grief... she had left him on his own to grief... she had left her baby...
- Diana felt like the world was dissipating around her and she immediately snapped her fingers and disappeared from where she was... she appeared in her room and it was then that she completely broke down... her entire body shook uncontrollably as she fell to the floor and started to wail uncontrollably... devon's words and voice kept echoing in her head... she felt like dying... "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." She muttered over and over again as she cried her eyes out... Diana cried and cried till she could no longer... she lay on the cold floor of her room. No tears escaped her eyes as memories of her precious baby invaded her mind... the first time she held him in her arms.. he was perfect... it was the best feeling in the world and she wanted to protect him from everything but instead of doing so, she had hurt him herself... she hurt the person she loved the most in the world...
- "Are you done wailing" Diana heard a familiar voice. But she didn't give a reaction... she was no longer in her room now, but she didn't care... she was weak and felt dizzy... Selene sighed deeply as she watched the strong witch she knew to be in the worst state ever... she was more than vulnerable now, and Selene had no choice but to feel sorry... she sat beside Diana in silence, and time went on and on till Diana finally broke the silence...
