Chapter 4 Four

• "Good morning," Devon greeted Luna as soon as her eyes fluttered open. "When did you get back? what time is it?" Alice tried to get up, but he stopped her. "Not long ago. lay down some more it's still pretty He said, and she did as he had asked her. "Did you find out where she is?" Alice asked now fully awake and Devon knew she wasn't going to go back to sleep till she heard an answer to her questions he shook his head and he could see how her demeanour became. "What about everyone?"
• "They are here. we all came back together. including Diana, " He said, his hand patting her head softly, hoping she would stop worrying herself, but he knew the only way she would stop was when everything was finally over. Then she would have peace of mind. We missed something, but... I don't know what it was that we missed. "
• Devon's hand slowly travelled to her stomach. her due date was drawing closer with each passing day. Alice placed her hand on his and closed her eyes. She hated that she had to live in constant fear. She soon fell asleep, and Devon lay beside her and fell asleep soon after.

• Alice opened her eyes to find herself back at the lake. "Alice." She heard Johnathan's voice and turned to see him standing behind her. "Johnathan," She said and walked to where he was standing. He had a slight smile on his face as she approached him. "How have you been?" she asked, and he nodded "fine" He replied. But his gaze soon left her and travelled behind her. the smile on his face disappeared as he said "Joan" Alice immediately turned to see her friend standing a distance away from them. "Joan!" Alice exclaimed and immediately rushed to where her friend was, Johnathan, following behind her.
• "Alice." She heard the voice she had missed so much call out to her, and Alice drew her into a tight hug as soon as she got to her. Joan hugged her back, as tears escaped her eyes. ", have you been? I've been so worried!" Alice complained after breaking the hug. Joan looked confused because of the expression Alice and Johnathan had on. "I've been okay," She lied. when, in fact, she had been at her worst for the past month.
• "Joan, please tell us where you are so we can come get you," Alice said, hoping Joan wouldn't give her an excuse. she doesn't want to tell Joan about Hazel and make her worry... She glanced at Johnathan, hoping he wouldn't say anything.
• "I am fine, Alice, you don't have to worry. I will come visit you before the baby is born, I promise, " Joan assured, glancing at her friend's baby bump. "Joan," Johnathan said in a worried tone.
• "There is something you should know... Hazel escaped, " He said, and Joan's face immediately dropped. Alice felt her heart squeeze when she saw her friend's facial expression. "What!" Joan said in disbelief, refusing to process what Johnathan had just said. "You are not safe where you are. We have no clue where she is and what she is planning to do. you need to come back, " Johnathan added. he didn't mean to shock her, but he knew if he didn't tell her this, she might not agree to come back to where was safe because of Liam.. now wasn't the time for that. he was afraid that what he had seen in his visions would still happen... He didn't want his visions to be proved right. he wanted all of them to be safe...
• "Joan, please tell us where you are. we will come to you." Alice held her friend's hand, hoping she would say something, but Joan just remained silent. Her face was expressionless now. "How did she escape?" Joan finally asked. "We are not sure, but we think someone helped her escape," Johnathan answered.
• Joan sighed deeply. she wondered how Liam was. He would definitely be blaming himself right now because he procrastinated her execution, and now she was on the loose again... He would be devasted.. She wanted to face palm herself. Nothing changed. she was still in love and worried sick about him.
• She had bad thoughts going away would help her, but it only made everything worse for her. not seeing him made her heart break over and over again each passing day because of how worried she was about him...

• "Devon!" Alice shook Devon awake when she opened her eyes. Devon eyes flew open and immediately held her arm, thinking something had happened. "What's wrong sweetheart. Are you alright!" He asked his eyes, scanning her body, and he immediately checked her belly, her facial expression for any sort of pain, but there was none... "I talked to her. me and Johnathan, " Alice explained, and his hands dropped from her arm. "Who did you talk to ?" He asked, confused.
• "Joan, she is fine... she told me where she was. we need to go her quickly, " Alice said and got up from the bed. "We need to tell Liam he has to come with us," she said. Devon was still lying on the bed when she stopped in her tracks and turned to look at him. "What are you doing?"
• she said, a little annoyance lingering in her voice. "What?" Devon asked, confused. "Why aren't you getting up?" She answered, and he immediately got up.
• when they left the room, Johnathan and Lilac were on their way out of their room also. Johnathan had told Lilac about it already.
• it was still early in the morning, when Devon knocked on Liam's door, he didn't take long for him to answer. Liam looked like he hadn't slept a wink the whole night. He looked at them curiously, wondering why they were up so early and standing by his door..
• "What's going on?" He asked, confused and curious. His eyes travelled from one person to another..
• "We know where Joan is..."
