• "Asleep?" Devon said in disbelief, and Lilith nodded. "Yes, she is asleep. it might just be a reaction to her powers because of the baby... She is fine. you don't have to worry, Alpha, " the healer assured him again, and Devon finally sighed in relief. Everyone left his room, and he lay beside Alice and soothingly touched her face. "You scared me there," He muttered and planted a tender kiss on her forehead and then on her bump. The baby would be here soon. He couldn't wait to meet their tiny one. The thought of it brought a smile to his face. A warm one...
• Devon was about to get up from the bed so he wouldn't disturb her when he got something similar to a static mind link. Someone was trying to get through to him. but he couldn't hear the person. That meant the person was far away or wasn't close enough. He got off the bed and headed to the door, but he stopped in his tracks he heard his name through the mind Link. [Devon! Are you there?] Devon recognised the voice immediately. It was his brother Liam. [Liam, what is going on?]
• [I don't know what is wrong with Joan. I'm almost at your pack. please have Lilith there to check her] Liam explained and broke off the mind link before Devon could ask any further questions. Devon tried to mind-link his brother again but didn't get a response. He mind-linked Lucas and asked him to get Lilith back at the main house. Then, his mind linked another of his men to prepare a room for the king and his mate. "What is going on?" Devon muttered as he walked out of the room and downstairs to wait for his brother... He just hoped Joan was alright...
