Chapter 47 The Children Are Protected!

  • The night was cold and the rain outside was pounding against the roof. Bjorn couldn't sleep still wondering if his mother was lost forever. He got up to check in on his siblings who were all asleep including his baby sister Kirsten who was looking more and more like her mother everyday. He wanted to lose hope and say she had been killed because it had been forever since the last time he had seen her. Even though he could feel her deep in his soul that she was alive and that she was coming home to them. His two younger twin brothers already training with their grandpa to become the next generation of Slayers, for they were of age to take the test. Though he wasn't required to go through the test but he would start soon enough. He had made the decision because the war had gone on it appeared there was no end in sight. He looked outside for they had left that cave a few years ago, and he tried to stay because it was where their mother knew they would be. However they managed to return to BLack Forest Reach where his mother's farm was but they were not going there for there was danger even still. No, they were in the temple where they trained everyday even Kirsten who was the smallest trained. She was learning very quickly how to handle herself in hand to hand combat, and even wielding daggers as her only weapons. She was just as determinded as her mother for she had yet to reach the point of learning the ways of the sword, but even now she was just as deadly just with her hands that even their grandfather was impressed. She didn't remember mother, and the twins had already lost hope of her being alive. However, he knew in his guy that somewhere out there she was alive and trying to come back home. He didn't show his emotions whenever he was around everyone, but at the moment he felt kind of lost. He had his water and was returning back to his room when he saw outside something like glowing lights. He wanted to cry out and thought it was his mother returning to them at last. As the figure came through the glowing lights with fire and smoke behind at first he knew that this couldn't be but he saw with excitement a face he hadn't seen in forever. Though it wasn't his mother he was thrilled. He had been told so long ago that his father had been killed and now he was looking at his father believing in his heart of hearts that God had sent him his father back. He knew if that be the case then his mother was also alive. What the young boy didn’t know was that the mage was creating an illusion for Baldr was a drauger and no longer had any memories of when he was alive. She needed the boy to come out on his own free will, otherwise she would have to find another way to get the son of Baldr within her clutches.
  • A voice came to him that this wasn't right something told him to go back to bed that this wasn't real that it was only a dream. He could remember the little boy in him saying over and over that it was his father that his father was alive that his mother didn't know that daddy was alive. In his heart he thought now that his fathe was alive they could go and hunt for momma and be a happy family once again. Again something tugging at his heart that this wasn't right, for something telling him to turn away and leave but he was too over joyed, he refused to listen to the voice in his head telling him that this wasn't real.
