Chapter 22 Blessing

  • She was bandaging her own wounds and neither were bleeding anymore when she heard someone coming. She knew it wasn’t Baldr and it didn’t sound like another guy, either. She looked up to see Elsa but she wasn't Elsa, the woman holding her head in her arms as she held a blade in her other hand and pointing towards Elvinia, "You are supposed to be her champion but you failed me, you failed my family!" As the figure who looked like Elsa spoke, Elvinia watched as the woman continuously was stabbing her own head, repeatedly, until she finally threw the head at Elvinia. Elvinia caught the woman's head looking inside as maggots and roaches were crawling out and though it was only a dream, it was then that Elvinia woke up. She was thrashing and screaming unaware that she had awakened Baldr and he was trying to calm her down but too late as others came into the room with their weapons drawn. It took a few minutes before Elvinia in her robes was seated at the table drinking a hot drink trying to calm down and talking about what she had seen in her dreams. Arika listening to everything looked as though she might get sick thinking about the maggots and roaches, for Elvinia it had been too real.
  • "What happened to you wasn't a normal dream, it could be that Adalwolf has found another way of trying to break you through your dreams. Dream walking is what my people call it. It would take a very powerful mage to do something like that using Elsa to torment you. He cannot kill you because you were made whole, so by attacking you in a dream state, he will seek to break you down that way." This was what Baudric stated as if he knew something that pierced his heart whatever affected him, for he spoke in a voice that was almost dull with no life in them. He didn't look anyone in the eyes, but yes it happened to him before where whoever had done it was trying to get him to turn on mortals, those he had sworn to protect. Dreams of blood and him slaughtering those close to him but he never broke, but he had came close to breaking down. It had went on for months and months, though he had stopped having those dreams, it still haunted him even to this day.
  • Baldr sitting and listening finally made known what was on his mind, "Is there a cure?"
