Chapter 36 Go Time!

  • Eleanor finished listening to the recording and finally once she had her fill of listening to her friend that had kept so many secrets. She did feel betrayed for starters why keep the secret of where Elvinia was really from and what she really was. These were just a few the questions that were going through her mind. No, she needed to know exactly what she had allowed in her life because Elvinia had never fitted in. Now she knew that there was something that was being hidden and now she was going to get to the bottom of things. Not to mention this was an opportunity in the science world not only to advance their research, along with the advance in medical treatments and possibly able to bring back animals that had went extinct. There was a paramont of data that she was thrilled that would soon be within reach and at her finger tips. Her sons along with their wives would be going on this adventure. She would have to get funding, but that wouldn't be a big deal. She and her husband had many friends that would make it happen. Now it was the time to gather as much intelligence as possible. Luckily she had kept some records when she learned that some of her research had been destroyed. She had to create backups otherwise she would have lost everything. She started noticing changes in Elvinia when she turned twelve where the little girl wasn't interested much of anything such as technology or wanting to advance herself in school as her siblings had, but she didn't get involved in sports, either. However, Elvinia was given scholarships for track and archery, which helped ease some of the expenses for her schooling. Eleanor wanted her daughter to get more involved in the medical field but Elvinia didn't really care too much for it. She would however take the classes all the way but would never finish by taking the bar exams. Elvinia had taken many classes but Eleanor had to be honest with herself, her daughter didn't ever want to come home because of the anomosity that was going on. She hated the fact that her daughter was talented and yet in her eyes her daughter wasn't pushing herself and refusing to get in on the studies that the family was getting funding. Having her on the team would have helped in several ways. Elvinia never wanted any part of the research even though she was more than qualified but it wasn't her cup of tea. Everything they had ever tried, she would always reject. Eleanor already knew she wasn't a mother figure, she took everything much like she would with any test subject. She had never allowed herself to feel not because she felt it important to keep her distance. However the touchy and the need to demonstrate emotions never was appealing to her. Of course her husband was much like her, though there were times he preferred his sons over his only daughter. Maybe it was because they were always willing to go above and beyond their academics or maybe it was because they didn't allow emotions to be their guide. Elvinia had a lot of heart and there were times that Eleanor's husband and Elvinia were arguing or having a dispute, it did get intense. Though he had told Eleanor that he wanted to many times slap the fire out of Elvinia he had to refrain himself. He actually had some heart issues because those two was like oil and water, they didn't mix. When Elvinia went into the Navy or whenever she went on expeditions, he didn't have to take as many of his heart medication. Elvinia wasn't exactly an easy child, from her toddler years to young child, Elvinia did things her way. Though her academics were not the issue, it was the fact the Elvinia never had gotten sick or ever missed a day of school or a day of work. She noted that the machines around Elvinia were never conclusive along with her test and blood samples; it was as though there was something keeping everyone from knowing anything about their daughter. They tried to find out about the girl's biological parents but again that didn't lead to anywhere, it was as though she didn't exist. Now everything was coming to a head because their daughter wasn't from this planet. She couldn't wait to find out more about their daughter's homeland, what it was like, and what did this place look like? How advance were these creatures and did they also have high intelligence as Elvinia? Soon enough she was going to have answers to all her questions. Because she was never going to stop searching and recreating Graham's work. All the lies and secrets were going to be exposed, whether it would take them a few months or years, she wasn't going to stop. Eleanor didn't know her friend had a secret life until everything came to the surface. Learning about his secret life, not only did he involve them by giving them a daughter who wasn't even human. Eleanor wanted to know who had been living in her home and eating their food. Graham wasn't always preceived as highly intelligent, more like a man who did enough to appease the college and those grans she thought he was hoarding money, eventually she thought he would have been caught and arrested. However, that was not the case as she was to find out later. He was far more intelligent than what she assumed, but he was also a better actor. Because no one ever knew what he did in his spare time considering he never went out on dates or social events. All this time, he had been building machines and collecting evidence of every place he had ever traveled. Most of everything had gotten destroyed, she was thinking of her own collection she was going to accumalate. Better yet, she was thinking of the Nobel Prize that she and her family would win plus other awards and more funding. This was a dream com true. Already, three different governments were sending their Elites with her and her team when they find the coordinates that would be used to trace Elvinia's capsul that was used right before they were able to intercept the mission.

  • Ina had been watching the team progress in the last few weeks, already they were putting together the various machinery having their hands on some of the best Engineers that money and Government could fund to get here as soon as possible. They were preparing to send out two teams once everything was set up, already she was done keeping watch. It was time for her to put her plan into motion. Ina using conjuring magic to make herself blend in with her surroundings, she didn't need keys to get Egon out. However, she didn't want anyone in here to escape and let the secret out about her homeland, either. While everyone was occupied she managed to set the timer for the gas to be leaked out, this would put everyone to sleep but they wouldn't be like snow white or like sleeping beauty, nope. There wouldn't be a prince to wake them up or true love to set them free; she wasn't going to take any chances to let out about Graham's secret life. She managed to lock down the entire mansion and the surrounding buildings so that no one could get away. The potion she worked on for the last few years, one drop would make a hundred sleep for years; however, she had filled the phial to the brim, making it worth over a hundred drops. Ina portal herself to where Egon was being kept. He better be excited to see her because they were going home and not coming back here, ever again.
