Selene was beside me, her small form curled up on the couch, lost in her dreams, but my mind was racing, filled with the echoes of the past few days.

The forest loomed just beyond the edge of our property, an expanse of shadows that felt alive, breathing and watching. I couldn’t shake the feeling that Aphrodite was out there, somewhere among the trees, a specter of my past haunting my present.
