As she gathered her things, her mind kept drifting back to the masked boy who had mysteriously appeared and then vanished. She hadn’t told her parents, but the encounter lingered in her mind, as if there was a missing piece she desperately wanted to find.
- Zeus stood by the door, his arms crossed with a small, protective smile. “Ready, Selene?”
- “Yes, Dad.” Selene smiled, her thoughts momentarily grounding. She grabbed her bag and followed him outside, where his sleek black car waited.
