- Only now, as I finally moved back toward the Shadow Pack, did it occur that the sun was coming up over the horizon above it, which cast very soft hues of pink and orange in the forest. My body ached from that night's events, the words of the Moon Goddess still ringing in my mind, and the weight of what I'd just learned pressed down upon me. The air was nippy, and frost glinted on the grass as I trudged through the woods I had crossed countless times before.
