Chapter 39 Caught In The Shadows

- It had been months since the start of the hunt for Aphrodite. With every passing day, Zeus's anger only grew more uncontrollable and I'd done my best, hidden away from his constant, all-seeing eye. It wasn't exactly an easy thing to do, mind you. He was perpetually on guard, and his temper flared more often than not. He couldn't find those two: Aphrodite and Hades; he was getting at his wit's end. The entire pack knew when he would finally snap.
- It was there in the main hall of the pack house that I overheard the plan. I had been passing through, pretending to be busy with something or the other, when I heard Zeus talking to his inner circle, his trusted warriors gathered around him like shadows.
