Chapter 37 A New Beginning, A New Truth

• The scent of pine and earth filled the air as the comforting sounds of pack movement could be heard just outside. Inside the pack house, the fire crackled along, throwing a warm glow to the already cozy room where Hades and I sat, which was littered with the stark comfort of pillows strewn about the old wooden furniture. I cradled one of the twins in my arms, his tiny wolf eyes fluttering as he slept. Hades sits beside me, his hand resting lightly on the other twin, who is placed in a teeny-tiny bassinet by the fire.
• This is the first peace moment we've had since I don't even know how long. A time to just be with my newborns, away from the chaos that had consumed our lives for what felt like an eternity.
