Chapter 6 Awakening Of The Wolf
- Aphrodite's Point of View
- The scent was unlike anything I had ever experienced. It was strong, powerful, and yet... soothing. It wrapped around me like an invisible force, and with each breath, I felt my body respond, a pull deep in my chest that was both magnetic and addictive. The scent was rich, earthy, like the deep, ancient forests and the wind after a storm—raw and primal. There was a warmth to it, a comfort that made my pulse quicken. But it was more than that. It was us—his scent calling to mine, like a piece of me that had been missing.
- But before I could react, I heard the door creak open, and there he was. Alpha Zeus.
- Our eyes met instantly, and time seemed to stop. His gaze locked onto mine, and I could feel his awareness of the change within me, the shift I had just undergone. His scent was everywhere now, filling the room, surrounding me like a storm.
- I stood frozen in place, my pulse erratic, unsure whether to run or lean into it. My wolf was howling in my chest, urging me to approach, to trust the pull. But my human side, still confused and overwhelmed, held me back.
- And then, without a word, he stepped closer, the tension thick in the air. His eyes never left mine as he closed the gap between us, his scent growing stronger with each movement. I was completely submerged in it now—his presence, his power, the bond that crackled in the air.
- “Aphrodite,” he growled, his voice low and filled with something dark and possessive. “You’ve shifted.”
- I wanted to nod, to show that I understood, but the words felt foreign in my new form. I tried, but all I could manage was to stand there, my wolf instincts still in charge, unsure how to communicate.

- The footsteps approached, thundering in the vast halls of the Red Blood packhouse. Closer, louder. I stood by the windows, waiting for them to swing open. She was here. My twin. Not that I'd ever wished it otherwise, but months had passed since we saw each other and everything between us was... complicated. So some part of me was happy.
- She was the next Alpha of the Dark Moon pack, loved and respected by everybody, perfect daughter. And I, the forgotten twin, hidden away for years due to my "cursed" eyes. However, now that I see her coming down from the carriage, covered in elegant robes that emphasized every curve in her very thin body, I can feel a spark of hope. Can this be the start of something new between us? Maybe she is here for me.
- The door swung open, and Hera stepped inside, her very presence commanding as always. Her gaze found mine at once and sparked toward me this brilliant, dazzling smile.
- "Aphrodite," she cooed, her voice smooth as silk, "my dear sister".
- I whispered, "Sister," making my face stretch into a convincing smile. For a second, I let myself believe it could be, that she traveled all this distance because she cared. Perhaps she was here to offer support, be the family I'd been begging for.
- But my faint hope broke when her eyes fluttered over me and settled on Alpha Zeus, who was standing stoically in the shadows behind me. His face was a mask of iciness; his posture rigid, as if he already knew the true reason for her visit. Her complete attention focused upon him, and I saw how her smile widened, becoming something more seductive.
- "Alpha Zeus," she purred, her feet moving forward in a swinging motion. "It's far too long since I last saw you. You look every bit as powerful as ever." Her voice was flirtatious, dripping with intent.
- I looked between them, my heart sinking in, realizing what was going on. She wasn't here for me. She was here for him, for Alpha Zeus. And the worst part was that they looked perfect together; the ideal Alpha pair. She was beautiful, powerful, everything an Alpha like Zeus would want in his mate. And me? I was just the cursed twin, the one everyone forgot.
- I felt my chest constrict with a pang of sadness as I watched Hera draw closer to him, her hand brushing lightly against his arm. Of course, they were meant for each other, I thought with a bitter taste in the back of my mouth. She would be the perfect Luna by his side.
- ‘Stop her. Alpha Zeus is our mate.’
