• The moment I realized Selene was missing, my heart lurched. I could hardly breathe as I tore through the pack house, my desperation mounting with each empty room I searched. I couldn’t bear to lose her too, not when Ares was already gone. Panic clawed at my chest, my vision blurring as I darted down hallways, shouting her name.
• Finally, I stumbled out to the garden, my breath catching when I saw Zeus.
