Chapter 49 An Air of Intimacy

• Cynthia frowned as she heard the hint of displeasure in his voice. “It’s only been a couple of days and I think I’ve done a good job with my investigation so far. If you’re not satisfied, perhaps you could do a better job yourself!”
• “Ha! Looks like I’ve overestimated your abilities.” James then mentioned lightly, “I didn’t assign you here to find out all these minor, unimportant matters. How long will it take for you to get an outcome? Can you provide me with some useful clues?”
• Upon hearing that, Cynthia felt rather aggrieved. I’ve been ordered around by everyone to do all sorts of menial jobs and yet, I didn’t even complain about it. Besides that, I even took the time to pay attention to everyone's behavior despite being so busy. There are so many people in the department, so how am I able to keep an eye on everyone?!
