Chapter 153 I Already Have Enough Problems

  • The next morning, Cynthia got up earlier than usual. She brushed her teeth and got ready before she took her bag and tiptoed out of her place. She was quiet even as she shut her front door. Cynthia had just rejected Shirley last night. Shirley didn’t look like she was about to give up, and Cynthia knew how stubborn she and her friends could be, so Cynthia was certain that one of them would come out to start a conversation with her if they heard her leaving the house.
  • The thought of Shirley and Maureen trying to befriend her in the space of their small elevator sent a chill down Cynthia’s spine. Although Cynthia wasn’t sure if the girls would stop doing their makeup halfway just to walk out to meet her, she still wanted to be safe rather than sorry. Cynthia felt a weight being lifted off her shoulders when she watched her elevator doors shut in front of her.
  • Once Cynthia got to the gates of the condominium, she looked around in search of the Rolls-Royce she had seen. However, she didn’t find the familiar silver A-88 after looking around for a long while. That’s odd. Didn’t Charles say that he has arrived? Why don’t I see the car anywhere? Confused, Cynthia pulled her phone out to call Charles. “Hello? Charles? I’m at the gates, but I don’t see you.”
