Chapter 25 Limited Intellectual Capacity

• The entire event lasted for more than two hours. Throughout that period, many presidents of various companies came forward to clink glasses and deliver their wishes, and James and Cynthia attended to each one of them. Cynthia’s role as the chief designer of Lewis Incorporated made it hard for her to slip away from all the guests. They sent off most of the guests when the event came to an end, and Cynthia finally heaved a sigh of relief once the crowd was gone.
• Although James was mostly the one who was attending to the guests, she was forced to stand beside him since she played a large part in that event. Her feet had been in platform heels for the entire day, so she could barely feel her legs anymore. As James sent off the final batch of guests, Cynthia seized the opportunity to get some rest. She had just found a seat when Faye and Daisy caught sight of her and hurried over.
• “Hah! It seems like it’s so much easier to get hold of you now that you’ve successfully seduced Lewis Incorporated’s president, huh?” Faye spoke up in a sarcastic tone before she let out a laugh. Cynthia frowned when she heard Faye’s voice. These two people are like gum. Why do they keep following me wherever I go? They’re not just gum; they’re rotten gum that’s threatening to make me puke every time I see them.
