Chapter 23 The Ungrateful Woman

• The crowd sent puzzled glances in Cynthia’s and Faye’s direction. Everyone had their own thoughts and opinions about the situation. However, being the idiot that Daisy was, she assumed that the crowd didn’t believe her mother. “Hey everyone, let me apologize on my sister’s behalf. She really didn’t do it on purpose…” Daisy put on a pretentious act of generosity.
• Cynthia, on the other hand, glanced at the family of three while she listened to Daisy’s pretentious apology. Hah! They sure are from the same family! At that moment, a male guest who looked like he was Dominic’s age stepped out from the crowd. “Hah! I’d love to have an unfilial daughter like her,” he uttered in a rather sarcastic tone.
• A dazed look filled Dominic’s face as he eyed the man who had just walked out. He knew who the man was—he was the executive director of Bluebell Real Estate. Among all the people in the crowd, there were only a few whom Dominic wasn’t afraid of offending. His company’s financial situation put him in a state where he’d most likely have to shut his business down if he couldn’t find any investors. After racking his brains in search of ways to get out of this tough spot, Dominic figured that there would be a great number of rich individuals who would attend Lewis Incorporated’s event. He wanted to drop by to get some sponsors for the company.
