Chapter 28 Were You Expecting Something?

• In the meantime, Cynthia was still cleaning herself up in the washroom. The coffee stain was stubborn, and it took her a lot of effort just to get the stain to fade off a little. However, there was now a huge water stain on her dress as a result of her efforts to wash the coffee off. Cynthia glanced at her wet dress helplessly. In the end, she decided that she would deal with it after she returned to the hotel. Fortunately, she was wearing a loose-fitting dress, so the stains weren’t obvious unless someone truly paid a lot of attention to her.
• When Cynthia let herself back into the lounge, she realized that one of her drafts had fallen onto the ground. She frowned at the sight of this. That’s odd. How did it end up here? However, she didn’t pay much attention to it and assumed that it was the wind. After picking it up, she got back to waiting for James. It had been almost 30 minutes since she arrived, but James wasn’t back at the company yet. She was losing her patience. Are you fooling around with me on purpose, James? I worked so hard to rush these drafts, yet you’re just wasting my time by making me wait!
• Cynthia didn’t have the patience to wait for much longer. She picked up her drafts as she decided that she would return to the hotel. She figured that she could hand the drafts over another day. Therefore, she walked out of the lounge to inform one of the staff members of her departure. “I’m heading back now. If your president asks about this, just tell him to call me.”
