• Derek paced his room, agitated, his heart felt pained, he wanted to humiliate Kathleen, to make her feel so much pain but why does it seem like he was hurting himself instead, he felt pained when he saw her pained look as he sent her to bring the drink for Nicole and he felt flame of anger when Nicole had spilled that drink on her, he could no longer hold himself in check when he saw Nicole's hand raised to hit her, what was wrong with him? "Wake up Derek, she never loved you, she was just playing innocent and was with you because you're rich" he chided himself, he needed to visit the clubhouse, a little wining and dancing will do him good, he got dressed and came out from his room, he was at the foot of the stairs when Kathleen came out of nowhere and crashed into him, "what the..." He didn't have time to balance his weight and they both went crashing down.
• One minute Kathleen was running from the Terrance before anyone would see her, she didn't want Marcella to suspect that she heard her discussion over the phone, and the next minute she crashed into Derek, who suddenly came down the stairs, her eyes widened as he groaned, "I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" Her hands moved over him frantically, checking for injury.
