Chapter 95 Edwardchloe - Forgive Me

  • Chloe followed Edward and Hans to the police station at Samuel's suggestion. They were both naturally curious why her husband suddenly ordered the police to arrest Nicholas, who incidentally was Edward's confidant all along. In her mind, did that man have anything to do with the chaos that occurred in the meeting room a few days ago? Or maybe, there was another problem that Nicholas did until Edward reported the man to the police. "Ah ... you're curious too?" In a sarcastic tone, Edward, standing in front of the examination room, rebuked Chloe, who had just arrived. It was nice to be cold and curt at that woman. "Ed ... stop acting like this. I know I've disappointed you." Edward smiled. "I was behaving the way I should. Just the way you used to treat me." Chloe chose not to respond anymore. The next second, Hans was heard calling from inside the investigation room. "Ed, you have to come in. The officer wants to ask you to explain." Hans' gaze then turned to Chloe. "And, Chloe, you should come in too. Maybe the officer needs an explanation from you, too." Edward came in first. He was followed by Noami and Samuel, who also followed. Inside, they were all invited to sit down and take turns giving testimony. "Mr Edward, what the hell is this? For God's sake, I don't understand." Nicholas, sitting in a chair with his hands in handcuffs, asked another question. I felt confused about why he was suddenly arrested. "Mr Edward..." It was one of the police officers' turn to speak. "You can testify now." Edward stood. The man pulled up a chair that was right next to Nicholas. "Before explaining further, I would like to present this item as evidence." Edward handed a flash drive to the investigator. "In it, there is some hidden CCTV footage that I deliberately installed to spy." The police officer started playing the videotape that Edward had given him. It seemed that everyone in the room, without exception, witnessed how Nicholas had carried out his actions. Nicholas is seen sneaking into Edward's study in the one minute video. He grabbed the laptop from the table, and I don't know what he was doing there. In the second video, too. Nicholas carried Edward's laptop from the lobby to the meeting room. And when he was in the elevator, the man turned on the thing and looked seriously fiddling with it, like he was working on something. Then stop when the elevator doors open. "This is just a misunderstanding!" Nicholas, who had been silent before, finally spoke up. "I was re-examining Mr Edward's work before it was presented. It's not what you allege." Edward nodded. Her face was so calm. "Oh, yes? Then, how about this one evidence?" Edward reached into his cell phone from behind his jacket pocket. It opens one of the folders on the bright object and then intentionally shows it to everyone. "Listen to this tape," he pleaded. Then began playing a recorded conversation between two men. "Mr Edward has a big meeting in the next few days. What does Mr Roland want me to do?" "I want you to sabotage the meeting. Get Emaar to remove AlphaBeta from the partnership list, no matter what." "Isn't it Mrs Chloe's part to screw up the meeting?" "Nic, so that you know, I don't trust Chloe. I did give her the task of deleting files or inserting a virus into Edward's laptop. But, I feel like that woman didn't mean what she promised me. After all, only You're the one I trust in this world." "All right, Mister. I'll make sure everything goes well." Nicholas' eyes were perfect. Now he had no more reason to argue. The recording Edward showed me echoed the conversation between him and Roland Dimitri. "How?" Edward asked. "You still want to dodge? Luckily I'm smart, intentionally installing additional CCTV to prove my suspicions.
  • And it turns out that you are the one who has been showing strange behaviour recently. I even asked Hans to tap your cellphone while you were off guard a while ago." Edward was silent for a moment. The man returned a sinister smile before finally speaking again. "I think, two years together, I can trust you. Not really." Hans, originally standing behind Nicholas, stepped forward, taking his position right next to the investigator. "Come on, Nicholas. Be cooperative if you don't want your punishment to be more severe." Nicholas gulped. With a downcast face, the man finally spoke. Roland Dimitri. He asked me to report all kinds of activities that Mr Edward's been working on." "Gosh ..." Edward exclaimed. "No wonder Roland could know all the news up to the agenda of the work I was doing." Nicholas nodded weakly. "I was sent to AlphaBeta to do that. And about meeting sabotage, I was the one who put the virus into your laptop." "I knew it," Edward said quickly. "That's why when I arrived at the office, I purposely gave you my briefcase and pretended to call Matthew, who hasn't arrived yet. in the meeting." "I'm sorry, Mr Edward." Nicholas pleaded. "I was just doing what I was given." Instead of apologizing, Edward smiled sarcastically again. "But you still owe me another explanation, Nic!" Nicholas looked up. The man turned to Edward. Mister?" Hans pulled out a picture from the folder he was holding. Showed it right in front of Nicholas' face. "Know who this woman is?" Nicholas narrowed his eyes. He looked around for a moment, then shook his head. "Sorry, but I don't know." Hans nodded. . "Is that true? But why can you take a picture with him?" Hans then took out another sheet from the folder. A selfie of a man kissing the cheek of a beautiful woman next to him. "Nathalie ..." Not Nicholas, but Chloe, who had been watching silently, now joined in the conversation. The woman was astonished by what she saw. "How is that possible?" he asked. Edward crouched in front of his chest. An unambiguous smile etched on the man's face. It was nice that it wasn't wrong to ask someone to help him solve a case as complicated as this. Remembering last night, coming home from the nightclub, suddenly Hans came to visit him at the Apartment. The man confirmed that he had important news that Edward should know immediately. "Hans, why did you have to visit so late? Can't it be done tomorrow morning?" Hans, who had taken a sitting position on the sofa in the living room, chose not to answer. Instead, the man was busy removing items one by one from the bag he was carrying. "You have to see this," said the man while handing him a sheet. white paper for Edward to look at. "This is a visualization of the characteristics of a man who is suspected of having a relationship with Nathalie." Edward took the sheet Hans gave him. He looked at it carefully. He was trying to identify the man in the picture. "Why this picture? looks familiar, Hans?" Hans smiled. "Have you seen that man?" "I don't know, but it looks familiar to me." Hans pulled the corners of his lips into a smile. "Then you have to prepare mentally. I'll give you one of those things that might shock you." The big man reached into his bag again. He took out a book with a golden brown cover. He handed it directly to Edward for inspection. "Open it and read its contents," he ordered. Edward retook Hans' gift and began to open and read the pages one by one.
  • Until his eyes stopped on a name written on the navy blue paper. "Dio Morales?" he asked Hans. "You recognize that name?" Hans smiled meaningfully. Act as if you already know who the man in question is. "Dio Morales, I remember that was my assistant's middle name." "Gotch!" Hans shrieked with joy. "Now take another look at the previous picture. Look closely." Edward complied. Then it wasn't long before he shouted. "Oh my God, so the man Nathalie has been close to is Nicholas Dio Morales, my own assistant?" Hans nodded. "The world is indeed small, Ed. Searching to the ends of the world, it turns out that the culprit is near you." Because of this fact, Edward couldn't sleep all night. I can't wait to get up early in the morning and then unravel all the riddles he's been investigating. "For God's sake, you killed my brother, Nic?" Chloe screamed hysterically. The woman had risen from her seat. He wanted to approach, but Samuel held his steps. "Let go of me, Sam!" Chloe shrieked loudly. He wriggled in his assistant's arms. "Nicholas, do you still want to run away if you don't know Nathalie Arley? The diary is even full of your photos. It says you've been in a relationship for a long time." Hans attacked Nicholas with so much evidence. "Come on, Nic, just confess." Edward also chimed in. "For God's sake I didn't kill Nathalie." "Lie!" Chloe shouted again. "You must have caused my brother to lose his life. You must have often committed acts of violence until the baby he was carrying became a victim!" Nicholas shook his head. "I swear it was pure coincidence." Nicholas argued the man was trying to defend himself. "I didn't kill Nathalie!" "Mister..." one of the officers rebuked. "Please ask your female friends to calm down a bit. Give the defendant a chance to explain." Samuel pulled Chloe back into her chair. Meanwhile, Hans again invited Nicholas to speak. "Then please tell me the truth. As I said before, I promise you will get your legal rights if you cooperate with the investigators." Nicholas nodded weakly. There was nothing he could hide anymore. After all, all the evidence points to him. "Nathalie and I did have a relationship a few years ago." In a low voice, the man spoke. "I really love Nathalie ---" "If it's love, why did you hurt her? I'm pretty sure that you caused the bruises all over Nathalie's body that she died." Chloe, full of emotion, again attacked Nicholas. "Chloe…" Hans rebuked. "Please, calm down. Let Nicholas testify." Nicholas seemed to take a deep breath. Sweat dripped down his cheeks. "It all started when Nathalie was pregnant. She kept forcing me to marry her. Even though my career was doing well at the time. I've tried to persuade her to be patient. But she kept demanding. Until one night, we had a big fight. fell down the stairs and he was unconscious." "And you just let it go?" asked Hans. Nicholas shook his head. "No ... I even called an ambulance myself. Confused about what to do, that same night while waiting for the medical staff to arrive, I called Mr. Roland, asking him to help me find a way out." "About business cards and Edward's handkerchief? Did you put them in? Nicholas nodded. "Mr Roland ordered it." The man bowed again. "Nathalie always has my photos and business cards in her purse. On the advice of Mr Roland, I first threw away the photos and all my ID that was stored in the Apartment and Nathalie's wallet. Then deliberately put Mr.'s business card and handkerchief. Edward, so that the family will not suspect, let alone look for me." "But why should Edward?" Hans shouted again. "Because Mr Roland wants Mr Edward to be considered the mastermind of all these events. Even if this case were revealed, it would be a big scandal. And again, for God's sake, I also didn't think that Nathalie was your wife's older sister. During the relationship, he never introduced me to his family." Edward clapped dramatically. He even laughed at Nicholas' confession. "How can you do all this to me, Nick. I even privileged you as my assistant." "Hans…" Edward turned his head away. "Have you asked the police to arrest Roland? The man needs to be taught a lesson. I want to sue him and put him in custody." Hans nodded. "I've asked the police to find him. The man was reported missing yesterday.
