Chapter 99
- Rose’s POV
- The morning air clung softly to my skin as I guided my horse back through the familiar trail toward the pack house. The scent of pine and damp earth still lingered, sharp and grounding, but my mind was elsewhere—still at the pack hospital, where I had just left the five victims Alpha Damian had once held captive.
- It had been only a day since their release, and yet already their faces carried more color, their bodies less weighed down by the marks of cruelty. Their eyes—once hollow and sunken with pain—now held the first fragile glimmer of life. I had smiled at them, trying to keep my composure, but the truth was, something inside me cracked when the youngest boy—barely older than twelve—looked at me and called me Luna.
