She wasn’t disobeying out of stubborn curiosity—no, it was the gnawing fear in her chest, the unbearable thought of what might happen to the six captives in Damian’s clutches. She edged forward cautiously, her breath shallow, straining to see through the shadows cast by the flickering torches and the waning moon.
