• Rose’s POV:
• I searched the entire pack house looking for Laura, but she was nowhere to be found. Her room was empty, the dining hall deserted, and even her usual favorite corner near the southern windows—vacant. I needed to talk to her. Desperately.
• I had an idea… or maybe the start of one. A wild, risky, probably foolish idea involving Kavian and the whole suitor situation the elders were pressing on me. The problem was, I didn’t know how to make it real. But Laura usually had more ideas than sense, and I was counting on that right now.
