Chapter 93
- Rose’s POV
- “Does this mean I have been forgiven?” Kavian’s voice was low, almost uncertain, as we remained locked in each other’s arms. His chest was warm against mine, steady, grounding. For a long moment I didn’t want to move at all, but slowly, reluctantly, I pulled back just enough to look at him.
- His face was so close—too close—and in that nearness I caught the softness in his expression, the small smile tugging at his lips. It made his features look impossibly handsome, his mismatched eyes gentled by something I wasn’t sure he showed to anyone else. A reckless part of me wanted to close the distance and kiss him, to drown myself in the comfort of him after everything that had just happened. Instead, I pressed my lips into a frown, forcing myself to remember the ache of our history.
