Chapter 89
- Author's POV
- Laura sat cross-legged on her bed, absently folding and refolding the same blouse as her mind wandered. The dim glow of the lantern on her dresser cast golden halos on the walls, shadows dancing to the rhythm of her restless thoughts. Try as she might, she couldn’t shake the memory of that night in the woods with Kavian—his hands, rough and demanding, his breath hot against her skin, the ache of being taken hard against the damp earth. She replayed it again and again.
- Her body betrayed her, warmth pooling low as her fingers drifted, brushing where she knew she shouldn’t. Her lips parted in a soundless sigh, hips shifting against the bed sheets. She hated how easily her desire stirred for someone who had used her, hated how her betrayal was wrapped in pleasure.
