Chapter 96

  • Rose’s POV
  • I sat by the window, my chin propped against my hand as my eyes wandered across the night sky. The stars glittered like tiny scattered diamonds, and the pale half-moon hung low, casting a soft silver glow over the pack grounds. It was beautiful, serene… and yet my chest ached. My thoughts refused to linger on the stars or the quiet night—they kept circling back to Kavian.
  • It hadn’t even been twenty minutes since he left, and already I missed him. It was ridiculous, really. But the way he carried himself, the calm in his voice, the way his mismatched eyes seemed to see right through me—those things clung to me, making the room feel emptier without him.
