• I hurriedly washed my bloody hand in the lake as the water slightly stung the fresh cuts. I put the dress on and stood up slowly, afraid that I might startle him with any sudden movement. Arion watched me with curious eyes as I slowly made my way to him. I lifted my hand, and he took a small step back but didn’t run away. He glanced at my hand and my face. After thinking for a while, he took a step forward and truly astonished me by licking my palm. I could help but smile as he lowered his head, and I took it as a sign of his approval. Without any delay, I softly placed my hand on his head and my palm snicked in his soft, luscious hair. I gently petted his head.
• “Thank you,” I muttered, and he snorted in response.
• I sat there, under the shade of the tree and watched as the sun descended to the horizon. Arion hung around there all the while. Munching on the grass and standing beside me at times. He even went as far as bringing me an apple. And I enjoyed his silent company to the fullest. When the sun reached the horizon and the sky was painted with vibrant hues, I finally got up to go back. Arion tilted his head as I turned to face him.
