Chapter 27 Lune Festival - Part I

  • “No one is supposed be here. Ever!” Something glowed in his eyes as he said those words. There was darkness and…pain. I didn’t know he was capable of any other emotion except for anger and cruelty. Then again, I don’t even know him. Every human holds endless mysteries inside them. Things they don’t want anyone else to ever find out. Outsiders only ever see the façade the other person shows them. They can never access the true person behind that act. And being in my position, I can only wonder what might actually be behind this façade he holds.
  • “Well?” He raised a brow waiting for me to answer. And I realized I was staring at him like an idiot for the past couple of minutes.
  • “Oh, um…I was looking for some flowers and got the yarrows I needed…and…um…I couldn’t find the lilies I needed and saw a Black Diamon White Crape Myrtle tree. And I tried but couldn’t reach the branches to pick the fresh flowers…and I thought if I threw something to break a branch then I could pick the flowers. So, I threw pebbles but none of that hit. And the last pebble ended up hitting a beehive and the angry bees started chasing me. So, I ran and ran and tripped on something and went through that bush. And I found a steep slope waiting for my death. So, I sent a prayer and got prepared to die. But instead of a cold hard ground, I felt something soft and warm. I thought I died and that was the feeling of being relieved of this cruel world. But then I found you holding me, and I think I might not have actually died.” I threw my hands around explaining my situation and he stood there trying to stifle a…laugh? I blinked a few times trying to understand what was funny as he crossed his arms over his broad chest and started down at me, amused. Ah you stupid female! Thank him you idiot!
