Chapter 31 Anxo - Part Il

  • As the Luna and Beta females gathered around the bonfire and circled it, slowly swaying their bodies to the rhythm of the drums, traditional melodies began to play. The females ramped up the tempo as they swayed their hips and waved their hands in sync, circling the fire, to the beat of the drums. wolves surrounding them slowly started clapping. Soon, everyone was in sync as they danced to greet the moon. The dance was a tradition of our lands. This dance was one of the few things that the packs in this region had in common. This ceremonial dance is very crucial in bringing the wolves closer.
  • Just at the opposite side of the fire, stood Alpha Erdem. His blazing blues stared so intently at his Luna. His eyes followed her every move. The love and hunger in his eyes were so visible that even in this distance, I could see that crystal clear. I closed my eyes and looked up at the sky. The stars were like a choir in the serenade of the black; they were like lights that spook in limitless patterns. Sometimes those sounds were needed for the eyes, and the deeper the night became, the sweeter the melody was. But this starry night spoke nothing to me. Not a single word.
  • The Alphas and Betas proceeded to join their females. I watched as my male took his chosen in his arms, thanking the Moon for her blessings through the ceremonial dance. I couldn't help but scuff as they stared deep into each other's eyes, swaying to the music and clutching each other so passionately. At this point, I don't even know if I should laugh or cry. I watched as Alpha Erdem circled the roaring fire, holding the female he had chosen in his arms. I never had a chance, did I? Even if Erdem accepted me, I don't see myself ever replacing Sigrún even in my wildest fantasies.
