Chapter 26 Lily Of The Incas - Part ll

  • The next day flew by as I and Vesna searched around the pack searching for wildflowers. I had no idea how huge this pack was! And how many wildflower beds scattered around the territory. After locating the flowerbeds, it was time to harvest the flowers we needed. On the day before the festival, I and Vesna started collecting the flowers we needed early in the morning. And by the time the sun started to come up, we had finished collecting all the flowers we needed. As soon as we reached the makeshift boutique, we sprayed down the flowers and placed them on the water mixture Vesna had made. Flowers will stay fresh for longer this way. And most of the flowers we collected were only starting to bloom. So, by the time everyone will sit down for dinner tomorrow, the flowers will be completely bloomed. I sat down and wiped the building sweats away and gulped down cool water.
  • “You rest for a bit; I’ll go bring the vases.”
  • After Vesna and two bulky males had brought in the boxes full of porcelain vases, we had started arranging the centerpieces. The wildflowers complemented the beautiful carnations, lily of the Incas and of course roses. By the time we were on our last two centerpieces, I was smelling like all sorts of flowers. And at that point we ran out of Lily of the Incas and yarrows. So, I was on my way to look for some Lily and yarrows. We got the Lily from our garden so it was uncertain whether I will be to find some but let’s not lose hope. I kept walking through the woods after searching all the flowerbeds we had found. I got all the yarrows I needed but no Lilies nor any replacements for it. Just when I was losing hope, I noticed pearl white flowers at a distance. I took hurried steps and as I neared the flowers, I recognized them to be Black Diamonds. They are quite rare in this region! And a tree that this about 8 feet tall and filled with flowers is even more rare. Black Diamonds aren’t wild, nor they can grow in wilderness just by themselves. Maybe someone had planted them here. With a thanks to whoever that person was, I lifted my hand to reach the nearest branch but well, it was out of my reach. I looked around for something that will help me reach the branch but what can I expect in the middle of nowhere! But I could throw something to break a branch!
