Chapter 60

• Bella’s POV
• I lean back in my seat and think over all the information that Kat has just given me. Realizing that I wanted to learn more, so I begin asking questions. “Do you know if they are seeing each other now? What does she look like, and how long ago did they date?” I figured I would stop there and let Kat answer me, before continuing on. Kat and her mother give each other the same look again. The one that screams “should we tell her?” I want to push them into giving me what I want, but I decide not to. I just sit quietly and wait. Finally, the silence gets broke, but it’s not by Kat, but by mother. “Well dear Candy is someone that has been in my son’s life off and on for many years now. They break up then a couple of months later they get back together. She has always tried to get my son to marry her, but thankfully he has better sense then that. I wouldn’t be worried about Ivan leaving you for her. Neither myself, my husband, nor Kat have ever liked the girl. There is just something about her that I don’t trust. She will try her hardest to come between you and Ivan if you allow her to. I hate to be the one to say this to you, because I know personally how hard it is to do what I am about to propose. But the only thing you can do is look over their affair. Trust me I realize how crazy that sounds, but I’ve had to do it all throughout my marriage. Trust me when I tell you that if you bring it up to Ivan then all it will do is piss him off. If you throw a fit about her then you will be punished. The most important tip I can give you is to never let them see it break you. Especially Candy, she would use your feelings and toss them right into your face. I know you wasn’t born into this lifestyle, and our ways our hard for you to digest. But I promise you that even though Ivan might fool around on you, and keep you locked up. There still isn’t any woman more important to the family then yourself. So, if you ever run into Candy, you keep your head held high, because you are still above her in every way. I wish that you didn’t have to go through the hurt that I know you are feeling right now. Even though I am still upset with you over your scandal please know that I still love you, and am always here for you if you ever need to talk to anyone. Remember that.”
• I have tears flowing down my cheeks after listening to mother’s words. Before I can respond footsteps coming down the hall makes me shut my mouth. I quickly wipe my face trying to get rid of the evidence of my sadness. The men come piling into the living room where we are currently sitting. Dad walks back over and takes Andrey into his arms. When Ivan comes to stand next to me, I avoid eye contact or at least I try to. He must have noticed that I wasn’t looking at him, because he places his finger under my chin and tilts my head up until I am staring straight at him. He doesn’t ask me anything only gazes at me. I don’t want him to know what we were just talking about. We stay like this for a couple of minutes before he speaks. “My parents are taking Andrey with them to spend the night.” I furrow my brows wondering why, thank goodness he informs me. “You will be accompanying me to a meeting at the club tonight. Enzo and Kat will also join us. So, go get everything that Andrey will need ready and hurry up.” I give a quick “yes sir” before I sprint out of the room.
