Chapter 28

• Bella’s POV
• I can feel the anger radiating off of Ivan on the way back to the SUV. I don’t push my luck at all after what his father just said. I keep my mouth shut and head down just the way he likes. The whole drive back in silent. Ivan doesn’t breathe one word, but neither do I. He stays on his phone typing out messages I assuming. I must have dozed off during the ride, because Ivan shaking me wakes me up. “Bella, get the fuck up.” I yawn but manage to respond “I’m up.” I head directly towards our bedroom and Ivan goes off in the direction of his office. On the way to our room, I wonder if Kat is ok. Not being able to reframe from stopping at her room I quickly knock before I plow inside. Kat looks puzzled to see me. She jumps to her feet and runs up to me. “What the hell are you doing in here Bella? You are going to piss Ivan off even more.” My nervous are jittering through my body, so I don’t waste anytime replying back. “I just wanted to check on you. I can’t stay. Just wanted to make sure that Enzo didn’t hurt you. I love you, and hopefully I will see you soon.” I barge back out of her bedroom and pick up my pace towards my own.
• Once I am safely inside my bedroom, I shut the door and go take a bath. As I am bathing, I am in deep thoughts about what Giulia spouted out to Ivan. ‘I bet Nadia had it just as bad as I do be married to that tyrant. I hope Ivan doesn’t take him serious about needing to punish me in front of his men. I can’t stand the possibility of me getting disciplined in front of all his men. How embarrassing would that be. I’m not stupid though I figure that all the made men in the family treat their wives the same way. Every made man I have ever come across has a dominating arrogance about them. I wish one day that us women could turn the tide and be the ones to teach the men a good hard lesson.’ I’m so relaxed and deep in my own head that I don’t notice Ivan when he enters the bathroom. I see movement out of the corner of my eye that makes me jump. When my eyes meet his I know that something is wrong. “Get out and get dressed now. I’ll give you fifteen minutes to be ready.” He storms back out of the room.
