Chapter 40

• Ivan’s POV
• As we walk into the bedroom on the plane, I close the door behind us. A thought hits me, and I remember that I never have searched her. I can’t leave her alone without making sure she doesn’t have a way to contact anyone. So, I tell Bella, “In order for you to be able to stay by yourself back here, you are going to have to strip naked. I need to make sure you are not trying to hide anything like a phone from me. If you do have one then I would suggest that you give it to me willingly. If I have to find it myself then let’s just say you won’t be able to lay on that ass of yours.” A guilty facial expression appears across her face. I extend my arm and leave it dangling in the air. This is her one and only chance to hand it over without consequences. She sighs and leans down and hikes her pants leg up. Stuffed inside her sock is her phone. It’s almost comical how she ever thought she would get away with having it. As soon as it is within my grasp, I snatch it. I rub my finger across the screen and see that it is password protected. I glare daggers at her, not speaking a word. She understands exactly what it is I am wanting. With deep regret she gives me the code, “4644.” I quickly key in those numbers to confirm that it really is the right one.
• She nervously bounces from foot to foot and I swear I see sweat running down her forehead. I amble up to her and guide her to the bed without letting her get dressed. I bend over and pick up her discarded clothes going through the pockets. Once I am done with my search I head back out and take a seat away from my men while I go through her phone. My first stop is the text messages. There is a bunch from her mother, sister, grandma, and somebody named Jake. I tap on the guy’s name curious who he is, and what he has to do with Bella. My temper flares after reading the first few.
