Chapter 37

• Ivan’s POV
• As soon as William is seated safely inside his vehicle where no one else will be able to eavesdrop on our conversation we continue. “Is the woman I just showed you Bella?” I don’t waste any time responding to him. “Yes, and I want to intel on everything about Bella’s life, since she left here six months ago. I’m going to call and get my pilot to ready my jet. I should be in Alabama by morning at the latest. I want you to keep eyes on her at all times. Don’t let her out of your sight. Text me the details.” I hang up the call, and storm out of my office and up the stairs. I go directly into my bedroom. Once I am nestled in the quiet space I plop down on the couch, so I can just think about my next move.
• ‘Bella is pregnant, what if the baby isn’t mine. She might have found herself a new lover as soon as she was back home. But still the doctor said that she probably wouldn’t ever be able to carry a baby full term. None of this makes any sense. Bella belly was way too big for someone no further than 24 weeks along. No, that is my baby that she is carrying, somehow, she figured out how to play me. Now the only question is do I kill her after she gives birth, or do I still marry her. I would be lying to myself if I said that I didn’t still want her. Or that I haven’t missed her everyday that she has been gone from me. I am a cold-hearted ruthless man, who doesn’t give a shit about other people’s feelings, but for some reason that woman got under my skin. She crawled her way into my heart without even meaning to. When I had to let her go, it almost killed me. I don’t think I could relive that pain again. Well, it would seem that I will be letting the little mink live. We will be married in two weeks’ time. At least one good thing gets to come out of this predicament, and that is the punishment that Bella will receive. I’m going to whip that voluptuous ass of hers until she is unable to sit down for a week. She better pray that I calm down before I reach her. I might not be able to kill her, but I can cause her so much pain that she wishes she was died. An example has to made of her betrayal. How else will she learn better?”
